Ikebana

Ikebana 生け花 ‘arranging flowers’ or ‘making flowers alive’ is the Japanese traditional art of flower arrangement. It is also known as kadō ‘way of flowers’. It is a disciplined art form where the beauty of the composition finds its essence in the delicate balance between nature and human expression.

Arrangements are traditionally crafted with seasonal flowers and other natural materials, such as leaves and branches, which are meticulously placed to achieve aesthetic harmony and balance. They embody the personality and creative sensibilities of the ikebana practitioner, capturing a moment in time, with an emphasis on the ever-changing seasons. It is a life-long journey to cultivate a deeper appreciation for nature and the fleeting moments of beauty it offers.

We invite you to embrace the act of creating something beautiful with flowers and branches with one of our Associate Teachers listed below.
